Some other helpful tips:

• Stay calm at all times, they sense your nervousness and fear- practice ten second Zen breathing - take a deep breath, hold it for ten seconds and as you let our your breath say out loud your great desire.
• Save all bedding and any other items your pet has touched and do not wash them, you may need to use the scent to help draw them out of a hidden or trapped location.
• Save the cat's used litter contents, as much as you can. Sprinkling along a trail leading back home or to a certain meeting location can be helpful.
• During a missing event, carry your pet carrier in the car with you at all times, be ready.
• Prevent losing them during a move - Use radio collars or GPS collars and keep your pets in cages while transporting them at all times. Use hotels that have suites with doors to the bedrooms, like the Hilton Homewood Suites or La Quinta suites.
• Have photos and information ready so that fliers and posters can be made quickly.
• Have a contact search list of friends and family per-made for anyone to access quickly.
• If you suspect your pet was stolen and think you have located your pet, have proof on hand that the pet is yours and consult with local law enforcement as to how to proceed.
