Nikki, a Tuxedo housecat, age 16, was adopted from a no-kill shelter many years ago. There were some sketchy details about her past pet parent family, but no one really knew for sure. After Nikki was home with me, every time I played music (any type - on the stereo, on my instruments, softly, it didn’t matter) her eyes would instantly dilate, she would panic, run and hide behind the couch, sometimes for hours.
We always knew this was a Pet PTSD related issue that had to do with her previous family.
Many Years of Work
We spent many years working with Nikki in different ways and techniques, all out of love, compassion and understanding. Progress would be made, and then some minor setbacks, progress regained, but the real fear always remained as a deep tramuatic layer.
In working with our animal communicator mentor and teacher Teresa Wagner on this issue, Nikki revealed the previous pet parent family had been much worse than we ever suspected or Nikki ever told us before.
I won’t go into details; however, loud music was a regular part of the lifestyle in this previous house while tramautaic abuse was happening. A very deep trigger and PTSD association.
We continued our work and efforts using our own animal communication, Animal Reiki, positive reinforcement, and FES Post-Trauma Stabilizer formula.

We certainly give credit to the healing powers of Todd Rundgren's music. I’ve had many Todd friends tell me how their pets are so attracted to Todd’s voice. Some sing, dance, and other’s are just more relaxed around his singing. Nikki would not sit through just any type of music, perhaps not anyone else but Todd, we shall see!
