The important thing to know is that the "C" word (cancer) is NOT an automatic death sentence these days. There are so many advances being made every single day in both human & pet medical sciences that both survival rates are increasing

Everyone's immediate reaction is to go to that dark place - DON'T. Cancer survivors will all tell you that mood, behavior and quality of life have a lot to do with surviving. As a professional animal communicator we have talked with many pets with cancer, including our own, who just needed to be made more comfortable during treatment. Just having certain things adjusted in their environment made a huge difference. Some pets have requested changes to their food and water bowls to make eating more easy. Some needed changes in the temperature of the room they were sleeping, or things in the house were just too noisy during the day when they needed rest. all things we wouldn't have known about without talking one on one with the pet through animal communication.

Most pets have a different threshold of pain than humans and are very brave when facing challenges. However it's important to know that every pet, just like us, are individuals and each one can feel very differently. You can only find out what their needs are by talking with them in a one-on-one conversation through a professional communicator.

Most are very brave in facing the battle ahead, no matter what the outcome may be and look for the extra day(s) of life with their loving family. As communicators we develop easy and unique signals from the pet for the pet parent to know if they are indeed in too much pain and need help. The vet can then adjust pain medications for them, or when the meds don't work any longer consider the options with the pet's own voice as part of the conversation.

Being positive, happy and keeping life on track is very important, even to your pets. Don't be sad, moody and crying all over them - they know what this means and in every case we have dealt with never wanted a pet parent to be sad. They want you to focus on the here and now and all the happy times.
